Juhi Chawla and Nawazuddin Siddiqui receive Indira Gandhi Memorial Award

It is going to be another crowning achievement for actors Juhi Chawla and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as they have been honoured with the prestigious Indira Gandhi Memorial Award, 2015. Juhi Chawla was the reigning queen of Bollywood in the 90’s and has given many memorable movies to the industry.

Nawaz Siddiqui, who has carved a niche for himself in the tinsel town is known for his spontaneous acting with a realistic flair. He is the only male selected in this year’s list of seven. Recently acknowledged for his outstanding performance in the film, ‘Manjhi’, Nawaz is definitely a rising star.

Former Lok Sabha Meira Kumar and All India Congress Committee General Secretary, Janardhan Dwivedi were the chief guests and facilitated awardees. The honour carries no cash award or other benefits. The function was held at Y B Chavan Auditorium on the occasion of Indira Gandhi’s 98th Birth Anniversary of the first woman Prime Minister of India by facilitating eminent personalities from different walks for life for their contribution in their respective fields.
